The railroad had a big impact on the history of Fort Worth. Today, you can take a trip back in time on the Tarantula Train at the Grapevine Vintage Railroad. It makes excursions between Grapevine and the Stockyards National Historic District. The Grapevine Vintage Railroad's nickname is the Tarantula Train, because an early map of the tracks resembled a large spider.
