The Clear Fork of the Trinity River separates the two 18-hole courses of Pecan Valley. The “River” course is longer and considered one of the top municipal courses in Texas. PGA Golf Tournaments 

 

Charles Schwab Challenge 

Also known as the Colonial National Invitation, the tournament is played every May in Fort Worth at Colonial Country Club, a private country club on the banks of the Clear Fork of the Trinity River. The inaugural event took place in 1946 and is one of only five tournaments given “invitational” status by the PGA. Get tickets. 

 

 

AT&T Byron Nelson 

Played at various courses in the DFW area, the AT&T Byron Nelson is currently hosted by TPC Craig Ranch in McKinney. As host of the tournament, Byron Nelson, a native of Fort Worth, frequently made appearances during the event before his death in 2006.
