Description

General Worth Square is adjacent to the former Hotel Texas – now the Hilton Hotel. The park now occupies the location where John F. Kennedy delivered an unplanned speech to thousands who had waited in the cold rain.

The park is centrally located just north of the Fort Worth Convention Center and straddles Main Street between 8th and 9th Streets. The tribute will be located at the southeast corner of 8th and Main Streets.

Downtown Fort Worth Initiatives, Inc. has received funding from the Fort Worth Parks Department to make basic improvements to the park, including new lighting, electrical repairs, brick work, irrigation and new seating. These long-needed improvements will ensure an appropriate setting for the JFK Tribute.
