HORNED FROGS HISTORY
Originally founded in Thorp Springs, Texas, as AddRan Male and Female College by two brothers in 1873, the university underwent a significant name change in 1902; moved to Waco in 1895 where a mysterious fire engulfed the campus; and finally moved to Fort Worth in 1910 where Texas Christian University (TCU) has been an integral part of the community ever since. Celebrating a century-long partnership in 2010, Fort Worth has been the home for the purple pride of TCU for over 100 years.
Fun Fact: The Horned Frog, TCU's distinctive mascot is actually a lizard and the only known horned frog mascot in sports history.
