Howdy, partners. My name is Don, and I'm a Fort Worth Herd Drover. This is my first blog for Visit Fort Worth. I am elated to be part of all the wonderful things Visit Fort Worth has in store for our community and visitors to our great city.
On April 1, 1981, Billy Bob’s Texas opened its doors to the public, offering 100,000-square-feet of entertainment. The live music venue, with its ample bars, bull riding arena, and Texas-sized dance floors, quickly became known as the “world’s largest honky-tonk,” a moniker the legendary space holds to this day. The Wrangler® National Finals Rodeo® involves more than just the sold-out PRCA performances held this December in Arlington’s Globe Life Field. This year many of the auxiliary events that normally fill Las Vegas, Nevada, will instead take place in Fort Worth. That roster includes two of the biggest: the Junior World Finals and Cowboy Christmas.
