The Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo (FWSSR) is the city's largest annual event and a time-honored tradition, bringing visitors rock, stock and barrel excitement for 23 days, January 17 - February 8, 2014. With the highly anticipated event approaching its 118th year, it's fair to say that anyone who is anyone in the Western world has visited the extravaganza at least once in their lifetime. If not, no worries - you still have time to experience one of the greatest events portraying real cowboy lifestyle in the nation!

We revel with long-time patrons during this exciting time as Fort Worth presents its unrivaled best of entertainment, livestock and rodeo, and are just as giddy to show our friends and family ALL the amazing things there are to do during the Stock Show; however, we hope to still have a few tricks up our sleeve. For instance, the Top 10 Things everyone should know about the FWSSR. Check out our list of must-knows below:

1.)    All-Western Parade - Held the first Saturday of every Stock Show, it's the world's largest all-western parade. This means no motorized vehicles at all! Stagecoaches, equestrian troops, marching bands and more make their way down the streets of downtown Fort Worth as 100,000-plus spectators look on. Plus, a reserved parade ticket acts as a general admission ticket for the Stock Show. January 18, 2014, at 11:00 a.m.

2.)   Fine Dining - Fair food is great, and we have it all, but that's not what we mean by fine dining. The FWSSR offers some of the city's best cowboy cuisine from Reata Restaurant (Reata at the Rodeo) and Mexican food from La Espuela Mexican Cantina for all to enjoy.

3.)   Multicultural Rodeos - Two of the 36 rodeos being held highlight the influence of Hispanic and African-American culture present in the rodeo today: Best of Mexico Celebracion (January 19) and Cowboys of Color Rodeo (January 20).  Tickets are $19.
