Although we were given a short reprieve from the summer heat today with a current 73 degrees outside in Downtown Fort Worth, we all know summers here can be sometimes, unruly. Lucky for Fort Worth visitors and locals, there are plenty of air-conditioned and cool things to do in Fort Worth that are budget-friendly.
The Cultural District is filled with wonderful museums: educational and entertaining. There's the Fort Worth Modern Art Museum, The Kimbell Art Museum, The Amon Carter Museum of American Art, National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame, the Cattle Raiser's Museum and always a kids' favorite- The Fort Worth Museum of Science and History. Tip: FWMSH offers two-for-one admission every Tuesday through August 2011! Also note, the Kimbell holds many educational and inspiring lectures as well as family activities that are often free throughout the summer! Every first Friday of the month, The Modern Art Museum offers a dinner and a movie event, appropriately titled, "First Fridays". This is a great cultural alternative to date night!
If you're feeling that it's too hot to be outside this summer, dip into one of the engaging museums nestled in the Fort Worth Cultural District. For more information on Fort Worth's museums, click here.
