There are tons of places to go in Fort Worth for date night, but finding places for people on a "college budget" could take a little research if you are not familiar with the area. Thankfully, downtown Fort Worth is just a few minutes away from Texas Christian University, so this big city accommodates even the most frugal budgets. Many students attending TCU as well as young locals in the area who are penny-pinching, will dine at restaurants like Love Shack, The Flying Saucer, Bar Louie and Torchy’s Tacos. The Love Shack is known for their "Dirty Love Burger" while Torchy’s is known for their out of the ordinary tacos such as Trailer Park, Dirty Sanchez, and Mr. Pink. If you are looking for a place with a great atmosphere and a meal that you can share, Joe T Garcia’s is top of the list. Even with just two tasty plates on the menu, enchiladas and fajitas, it has easily become a Fort Worth favorite. Searching for somewhere to dine for a special occasion while still being parsimonious? Head to the Near Southside, and try a more intimate, upscale restaurant like Lili’s Bistro. If you enjoy BYOB restaurants, Mamma Mia Italian Grill & Pizza is a delicious choice for an inexpensive date night. If you and your date are fans of live music, Shaw’s Patio Bar & Grill have a live music on Friday and Saturday nights or indulge in the home-style cooking of Buttons Restaurant have a live band Wednesday thru Sunday.

After dinner, the nightlife in Fort Worth gets even better! A new drive-in movie theatre has opened up. The Coyote Drive-In only cost $8 per person for this vintage way to watch a movie on the big screen. Movie Tavern is a premier in-cinema dining experience. More than just your popcorn and candy, the Movie Tavern (locations on Hulen, West 7th and Ridgemar Mall) offers first-run movies combined with a wide range of chef prepared menu selections. Cowtown Bowling Palace has specials on the weekend that are great of couples to enjoy unlimited bowling with live music and light shows at a low price. During baseball season, the Fort Worth Cats compete against other city teams in Texas during the week and on weekends with affordable tickets and five dollar specials on Sunday’s. Enjoy your date night and remember, you don't need to break the bank to have a fun night out in the Fort!
