Many years ago before Malls and Walmart.
My mother would take me shopping downtown.
There were many family owned stores with good deals ! Monnigs had a tea room with the best lunches , and clothes to small Appliances.
The Red Goose was the place for Kids shoes.
Leonard's had an M&O subway train to. Ride !
We bought groceries and many items there .
But more than shopping Fort Worth had great movie theaters with balconies and rich carpet and curtains .I saw my first Movie in the Majestic.
It was special to buy a hamburger for 10 cents up a block away from the courthouse .
That old courthouse is still awesome and
Walker Texas Ranger Featured it in on TV.
I'm proud of our heritage and my years growing up in Fort Worth. The Convention Center is an Excellent Venue still today. The Water Gardens was a nice gift to the City by The Amon Carter
foundation and Family. There are many to thank for our towns growth and livelihood ,
People who give back The Bass Family, The Moncreif's to name a few , so much Hospitals Lots of renovation such as Sundance Square and
downtown is still a great place to bring your children after 50 years of my life .Long Life Fort Worth, Where The West Begins .
