For Fort Worth Kids Events try this intersting event at the Kimbell!
On Saturday, September 18, from 10 a.m. to noon participants will learn to dress like an ancient Maya ruler from head to toe. Depictions of ceremonial costumes in the current exhibition, Fiery Pool: The Maya and the Mythic Sea, will spark ideas for colorful headdresses, pectoral necklaces, and belt ornaments.
Designed for children ages 6 to 14, Children’s Workshops combine interactive gallery discussions and hands-on activities for children and their parents. The materials fee for the workshop is $15 ($12 for Kimbell members); sign up for three sessions to receive a special discount rate of $37 ($30 for Kimbell members). There is no charge for parents. Maximum of three children per adult. To register, call 817-332-8451, ext. 297.
Kimbell Art Museum hours: Tuesdays through Thursdays and Saturdays, 10 a.m.–5 p.m.; Fridays; noon–8 p.m., Sundays, noon–5 p.m.; closed Mondays. For general information, please call 817-332-8451. Web site: www.kimbellart.org
