Spring has sprung in Fort Worth, and I couldn’t be more excited. Spring is sometimes short-lived in Texas with that infamous hot weather here by May so you have to soak up the beautiful spring weather while you have the chance. And Fort Worth has TONS of activities to choose from.

Fort Worth Zoo - The Fort Worth Zoo is in the top 5 in the nation, and when you visit you can see that is a well-deserved ranking. I have always loved the zoo. Growing up, I used to take school field trips to the Fort Worth Zoo, as a nanny in high school I would take my girls, and now as an aunt I love to take my nephew and see him marvel at all of the animals. In the summer, I tend to retreat to the cool indoor oasis that houses those adorable penguins, but in the beautiful spring weather, you can enjoy walking around all of the exhibits and admiring the lions, tigers, and bears. Oh my!

Coyote Drive-in Theater - Going to the movies is one of my favorite past-times, and enjoying one at the drive-in theater is even more fun. And it’s cheap! You get two movies for just $8. Coyote Drive-in is the perfect place for date night, family movie night, or hanging out with friends. The theater also has great food and drinks so come early for dinner or classic movie popcorn and candy. Tip for really enjoying the outdoors here – go with a friend who drives a truck and bring pillows and blankets or bring lawn chairs so you can sit out under the stars while watching the movie.

Lunch in Sundance Square Plaza - Take a break from work and meet your friends for lunch in the new plaza. Try one of downtown’s new restaurants – Bird Café, Del Frisco’s Grille, or Taco Diner – all delicious and all with outdoor patio space. Or grab a salad or wrap from Salata down the street to eat at one of the many tables scattered throughout the plaza. With the weather warming up, the plaza is sure to be bustling with downtown workers escaping their offices and families with kids running through the fountain.

Joe T Garcia's - Joe T’s is one of my all-time favorite restaurants, and this is the perfect time of year for enjoying their spacious and stunning outdoor courtyard. Whether you order the enchiladas or the fajitas, you’re in for a real treat. Make sure your Mexican feast includes their famous margaritas!

Texas Rangers Baseball Game - Growing up in Arlington and in a baseball-loving family meant I was born to be a Texas Rangers fan. With the ballpark just a short drive from Fort Worth, it’s easy to make it to a weeknight or Saturday afternoon game. And this is the perfect time to do it, before that summer sun turns a baseball game into a scorcher. Grab your friends, put on your Rangers gear, and enjoy a cold beer and ballpark hot dog while cheering on our Texas Rangers!

Trinity Trails along the Trinity River - Spend your Saturday enjoying the outdoors by taking a leisurely stroll along the Trinity Trails or rent a kayak or canoe from Backwoods and paddle your way down the Trinity River. My new favorite water activity is stand up paddleboarding, and it will be yours too once you try it! Aloha Paddleboards offers rentals and lessons. After your active day outside, enjoy live music and delectable dishes at The Woodshed Smokehouse located on the banks of the Trinity River.

Get outside this Spring to enjoy the gorgeous weather and all that Fort Worth has to offer!
