Start making your spring break plans by putting Family Fun Week at the Amon Carter Museum of American Art at the top of your list. This free public program invites children and their families to explore the museum collection with art-making activities and hands-on programs. The program is held daily from Tuesday March 11 through Friday, March 14th at 10:30 am to noon.
During these hours, families will discover how the works of art at the Amon Carter Museum relate to the natural world. Museum educators will be stationed throughout the museum to help children make connections between the works of art and elements of nature, including rock and land formations, the movement of wind, water, and fire. During the week, the atrium will be filled with art materials to allow adults and children to channel their creative inspiration into a fun project. Cookies and lemonade will also be served.
While you are at the museum, be sure to visit the current mouth-watering exhibition, Art and Appetite: American Art, Culture, and Cuisine. Also at the museum, you can enroll in the Family Loyalty Program, a free reward program that encourages families to frequent the museum by offering prizes and special museum experiences. Admission to the museum is always free.
