You only need to step outside to be reminded that summer is almost here. As the family-fun planner, it's up to you to make it a summer to remember. While you're stocking up on sunscreen, be sure to make your summer bucket list full of the activities for the little ones to enjoy. Preschool fun is especially hot in Fort Worth, with plenty of activities to keep the six and under set occupied. So, what should be on your Preschool Summer Bucket List?

When It is so Hot You Think You’ll Melt….
  • Slap on the sunscreen and head to Burger’s Lake.  Build a sandcastle on the beach and cool off in the spring fed (and chlorine free) one acre lake.
  • Retreat to the cool indoors with a trip to the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History. Little ones will love splashing as they learn about hydropower. Don’t miss the daily showing of One World, One Sky: Big Bird’s Adventure as Big Bird and Elmo introduce preschoolers to the night sky.
When You Want to be Sure They Take a Nap…
  • Discover a wild and wooly path at the Cattlepen Maze in the Fort Worth Stockyards.Treat yourself to an ice cream when you find your way out of the maze.
  • Take a hike around the Fort Worth Nature Center.  Check the monthly schedule for special Preschool Discover Clubs and Children’s Hikes that are perfect for little explorers.
When You’ve Had Too Much Yo Gabba Gabba…
  • Catch some culture at preschool story time at the Amon Carter Museum. Enjoy story time and crafts, served with cookies and lemonade.
  • Head to the CR Smith Museum where you can climb aboard full sized airplanes and pretend to be a pilot.
When You Want to Sit Back and Enjoy the Ride…
When You Need to Get Back to Nature…
  • Explore inside a fallen log, see the backside of a waterfall, and feed hungry fish at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden.
  • Spend some time with your barnyard friends at the Trinity River Farm, where you can feed the baby goats and sheep and take ride on a horse drawn carriage.
