This Labor Day weekend marks the last Fort Worth Herd Cow Camp of the season.This Saturday and Sunday at 1:30pm, the entire family is invited for a free and entertaining Cow Camp. The Fort Worth Herd drovers provide some history for the little ones and walk through what it takes to be a real cowboy or cowgirl during the Chisolm Trail days.

With school back in session, that means fall family fun is just around the corner. If you have an animal lover, you won’t want to miss Animals Alive at Stockyard Stations in the Historic Stockyards. Meet the unique animals that call Texas home, ride a pony, watch a cattle drive and generally have a ‘yee-haw’ good time. Don’t miss the special chance to witness Cow Camp, an interactive experiences with the equipment used during the Cattle Drive Era. Activities include; roping, sorting, saddling, cattle drive demonstrations and chuckwagon stories from authentic drovers and cowboys.

What: The “all animals, all the time” lineup features a full day of animal antics including:

  • Armadillo Races
  • Pony Rides
  • Petting Zoo
  • Live Animal presentation
  • Presentation of the Fort Worth Herd
  • Fort Worth Cow Camp
  • Twice Daily Cattle Drive

When: Saturday, September 14 from 11:00-4pm

Where: Animals Alive activities are held on the lawn of the Livestock Exchange Building located at 131 East Exchange Street in the historic stockyards.

How Much: Free!  All activities and attractions at Animals Alive are completely free of charge.

While you are in the Stockyards, don’t miss the other family attractions, including a run through the cattle pen maze, or a wild ride on a mechanical bull.
