Now that summer is slowly fading away from Fort Worth we can look forward to spending more time outdoors. A picnic gives your family a great way to get outside and enjoy the cooler Fall temperatures.
The Botanic Gardens provides a picturesque background for your family’s next picnic. This peaceful spot has plenty of green space to spread out and you might even be able to sneak in a few rounds of frisbee if it’s not too crowded. After your picnic you can explore the gardens and don’t forget to check out the unique Japanese Gardens as well.
Fort Worth’s most popular park makes a great spot for a family picnic. The large playground will keep kids entertained and there are plenty of shady spots to set up for an afternoon. After your picnic your family can take a ride on the Miniature Railroad or feed the ducks at the Duck pond.
If you’re looking to bring along the four-legged members of the family you’ll want to head to Gateway Park located on the East Side of Fort Worth. In addition to a playground for the kids they also have dedicated a portion of the park to dogs. A fenced in area gives your pup a place to play and after they are tired out you and your family can head to one of the many picnic areas in the park.
Tillery Park features a nice play area to accompany your picnic. You’ll find Tillery Park nestled in the Berkeley neighborhood of Fort Worth, near the zoo. This park features a wonderful playground that little ones will love.
Take time to enjoy the natural scenery during your picnic at The Fort Worth Nature Center. Make a day of it and choose one of the many trails to take a family hike before or after your picnic. Be sure to check out the animal exhibits in the visitor center.
