Sure, you could get away with just dinner and a movie for Valentine's Day, but Fort Worth offers many creative ways to make lasting memories with your loved one. Here are five fun Valentine's Day events that you may not know about.
1.) Love FW, A Curated Singles Event
Don't have a date lined up for the 14th? No problem. There's a great matchmaking event at The Collective Brewing Project to end your dating doldrums the week before Valentine's Day. An even number of tickets will be sold to men and women. And it's not just for singles. Red armbands will designate folks in a relationship. (It's the perfect chance for you and your partner to help that certain single friend out.)
Green bands give the green light to flirt. Event organizers Tanglewood Moms, Love FrogKisser, and Fort Worth Weekly dating columnist Sarah Angle have put together a lively night full of craft beer, live music, and fun games designed to get you up and close with your future significant other. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain by showing up.
2.) Fortunately, not every event falls on the 14th. You can pregame your romantic evening with a couple's painting event at Rabbit Hole Brewing Saturday, February 13, from 5-7PM. Local amateur painting gurus, Cruising Canvases, will be there to guide you through the rudiments of artmaking; supplies included. A custom cheese spread coupled with Rabbit Hole brews will top off the afternoon. The fun continues Sunday, February 14, at 3 Vino Winery from 3-5PM. Tickets are available here.
3.) On the big day, the venerable choral group Schola Cantorum is performing Songs for Lovers at the Kimbell's Renzo Piano Pavilion at 3:30PM. The new performance space is, appropriately enough, full of lush red colors that are softened by walls of glass. The afternoon features love songs, a cash bar, roses, and chocolates for your special someone. Tickets are $20.
4.) What better way to the Valentine's than several thousand feet in the air? Starlight Flight is offering 30-minute airplane tours February 13-15. Bring your own wine or champagne for the ultimate ride. When registering, you can opt to upgrade with flowers or roses waiting on board.
5.) Have you always wanted to cook like the chefs on TV? Central Market has a Decadent Valentine's Day Dinner event February 13, 14, and 15 that includes demonstrations on how to make dishes like lobster bisque, warm molten chocolate cake, mascarpone and chive whipped potatoes, and more.
