Are you looking for something fun and Free in Fort Worth to do this weekend with the little ones? There's only two more weeks to participate in The Herd's CowCamp. Held every Saturday and Sunday from 1:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. through Labor Day, CowCamp takes place behind the Livestock Exchange Building in the Stockyards National Historic District and offers visitors of all ages some real cowboy fun. Particpants learn about the cattle drives, the life of a drover, observe various livestock & chuckwagon demonstrations and the equipment they used on the trail.

Participants are taught roping skills, such as roping a dummy and trick roping, an essential for every real cowboy or cowgirl!  And, make sure to try your hand at branding (no fire needed!), while learning about the historic use of brands and the meaning of the Running FW.  Western Heritage in action!

Of course, no cowboy or cowgirl can leave without learning about the life of a drover and having a little fun, drover style. Visitors test their speed and agility in stick horse races, sing along to campfire songs, and even learn a few dancin’ steps!
