Whether you’re visiting Fort Worth on a per diem budget or you’re just wanting to get a little more for your money, we have some suggestions for how to eat more and spend less!  

Near Southside

Start your day at Paul’s Donuts, Subs and Gyros located at 1324 Hemphill Street. Try the giant apple fritter and a beverage of your choice. The restaurant’s open from 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday and 7 to 11:30 a.m. on Sunday.    

 

Another local favorite is Funkytown Donuts. An extra sweet start to your morning will cost you between $2-4 for a large donut, minis are $1.50 and donut holes start at $0.15. 

 

For lunch, you can get a Legit Grilled Cheese with a side of fries and house-made ketchup at The Bearded Lady. You will blow your budget if you order one of the craft beers or sides, though.  

 

Sweeten up your choices with a scoop from Melt Ice Creams. The craft ice creamery Beans (Vanilla),  Chocolate Chocolate, Salt Lick, Cup of Texas and Velvet Vegan on its always menu.
