Get yourself a good dose of Texas Culture!  The Kimbell Art Museum presents the film “Cracking the Maya Code” (2008) at 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 12, in the Museum auditorium. It is the first program in the Kimbell’s free film series Exploring the Maya World and is approximately 60 minutes long.

Recent archaeological discoveries and exciting breakthroughs in deciphering Maya hieroglyphs have opened a new chapter in one of the ancient world’s greatest detective stories. Selected film programs follow leading experts as they piece together a more nuanced understanding of the powerful rulers, majestic cities, and cultural achievements of the Maya civilization.
