Fort Worth isn’t just where the west begins. It’s where you can begin a great romance, too. If your ideal romantic getaway includes dining, we’ve got some great picks for you.

Downtown: For cowboy cuisine in a luxurious setting, Reata Restaurant is the place. The valentine’s dinner features four phenomenal entrée options. Pecan-crusted chicken, cornmeal-crusted striped bass, a charbroiled rib eye, or a smoked tenderloin with seafood stuffed shrimp. Dinner includes either a wedge or field greens salad and a choice of molten chocolate cake with drunken berries or classic cheesecake with brandied cherries. Prices range from $45-$65. For reservations, call 817.336.1009.

Cultural District: Café Modern offers a world-class dinner, followed by the film Some Like It Hot (1959), starring Marilyn Monroe. On either Feb 13 or Feb 14, you can enjoy a three-course meal, their extensive wine list and the museum’s elegant ambiance. Dinner service starts at 5 pm with film showings at 7 and 9:15 pm. Dinner is $58 per person. The film is free, but tickets are required.  Call 817.840.2157 for the menu and reservations.

Southside: For a truly unique dining experience, try the Bastion’s Prix Fixe 7-Course Dinner. Seated family style on long tables, you will meet interesting new people while maintaining an intimate atmosphere. Chef Riccetti is serving Beef Wellington or Wild Mushroom Millefeuilles and Spring Risotto as a vegetarian option. The venue is BYOB, but a wine paring suggestion list is available by request. Seating is limited and the meal starts promptly at 7 pm. Reservations are $90 per person and must be paid at the time of reservation. Call 817.913.6972 for details.

Camp Bowie: Looking to spice up the night? There’s no better place than Mariposa’s Latin Kitchen. The evening starts at 6 pm with a 1 hour lesson in Latin ballroom dancing, followed by a 4 course dinner. Over your phyllo-wrapped beef tenderloin or blacked red snapper with red pepper risotto and grilled asparagus, enjoy a performance by dance instructors from Rhythms of the Heart. After dinner, you’ll have the opportunity to get back on the dance floor and work off dessert with your new moves. Tickets are $70 per person and seating is limited. Call 817.570.9555 to make your reservation.
