Representing true Texas Culture, the Kimbell Art Museum presents “Hieroglyphs from the Yucatan,” a Friday Workshop for adults, on December 3 from 2 to 4 p.m. This program combines thematic, docent-guided gallery tours with hands-on art activities.
A block-printing activity on Huun Yucatan paper encourages a closer look at how Maya artists achieved the harmonious integration of hieroglyphs, figures, and decorative borders. Offered in conjunction with the exhibition Fiery Pool: The Maya and the Mythic Sea.
The materials fee is $15 ($12 for Kimbell members). A light snack from the Buffet Restaurant is included. To register, call 817-332-8451, ext. 297.
