Learn more about our latest Instagram Takeover photographer, Rob Reconnu, who recently relocated to Fort Worth from North Carolina. We can't think of a better way of getting to know a new city than photographing it! Follow the @VisitFortWorth account Sunday, December 6 - Saturday, December 12.
Where are you from?
I grew up in Sachse, TX, but just moved here from North Carolina.
What about Fort Worth inspires you?
The diversity of Fort Worth amazes and inspires me. From old to new, from nature to industrial, you can find it within walking distance in Fort Worth.
Do you have a favorite place to photograph in Fort Worth?
I'm a sucker for the Fort Worth skyline over the Trinity River. It seems that every time I see it, it's different and interesting.
What would you tell a visitor they must experience in Fort Worth?
There is no one answer for this question so I'll give you my top two (out of 50+). First, a visitor must experience the people of Fort Worth. Without exception, when I tell someone I just moved here, their first words are "Welcome to Fort Worth." I've lived all over but I have to say, Fort Worth, Texas, is by far the most welcoming.
The second thing I'd advise a visitor to experience is downtown at sunset. To watch the city transform, to see the colors change from the warmth of day to the orange of sunset into the blues of evening makes me stop and watch every single time. Along with the spectacular visual aspects of sunset, there is a change in the feel of the city. You can watch it change from a place of business into a relaxed, urban oasis in the span of about 20 minutes. It's remarkable to see.
Twitter: I'm not cool enough for Twitter. (We think you are, Rob!)
