In 2010 a friend asked if I had ever heard about the McCammon Voice Competition.

I said, “No....what is it?”

She said “It is an international voice competition for emerging opera singers, and it is this Saturday at Bass Hall. Why don’t you come?”

So, I went. Having lived in Fort Worth for over thirty years, loving music, and having not heard about it, I was totally unprepared for such brilliant performances by powerful and passionate singers. They were competing for cash prizes, future work, to be “discovered”....a little like The Voice or American Idol.

Fort Worth’s own McCammon Voice Competition has grown into one of the top operatic voice competitions in the world and its winners have gone on to enjoy stellar careers with major opera companies around the world. The 2014 Competition will feature 24 of the most talented young singers of our time.

So, I want to extend the same invitation that I once received. Come and hear these promising young singers Saturday, March 22, 1:00 at Bass Performance Hall. Tickets are only $25. Don’t miss this chance to see tomorrow’s stars of opera!

Check out McCammonVoice.org for more information.

You won’t be disappointed!
