Ready to see why Fort Worth is affectionately admired for our Western Heritage? A walk around the Stockyards National Historic District will explain it all. You can see how sheep and pigs were transported several years ago and where the horses got water before heading to Kansas on the cattle drive.

The areas once housed one of the largest cattle markets in the world. Today it’s filled with Western-themed shops, saloons and attractions like the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame.

Get there just before lunch at 11:30 a.m. or stick around until 4 p.m. to see the world’s only twice-daily Fort Worth Cattle Drive. You will hear the call of the drovers and feel the strength of the longhorns lumbering down the road.  Feel the history of the Stockyards in the air all around you!
