It is a pretty busy sports week coming up for Fort Worth with the Texas High School Coaches in town for their 2011 annual meeting, Bobby V’s event at TCU and the Texas West State Little League Tournament at Kelly Park and All Saints High School for July 21-25, 2011.
Games will be played at Kelly Park -a privately owned and maintained Little League facility located north of White Settlement Boulevard on the east bank of the Trinity River in west Fort Worth as well as All Saints High School. Admission is free however, parents and fans will be charged a daily fee of $5 per car to park at any of the facilities.
The 10th Texas West Little League Tournament brings in 38 various teams throughout West Texas from Fort Worth to Brownwood. Family, Friends and Fans will take in Fort Worth as players take to the field in the City of Cowboys and Culture from 11 different divisions, for boys and girls for baseball and softball ranging in age from 9-17 years-old. The teams that wins will move on to Williamsport, PA for the nationally-televised Little League World Series. This is the third straight year for Fort Worth to host and one more year planned. The estimated economic impact of this event for the city of Fort Worth is $800,000.00 using ten or more local hotels.
