Fort Worth Stockyards on April 13, 2024
FORT WORTH, Texas – The Fort Worth Stock Show Syndicate (FWSSS) will host the third annual
Syndicate Smokedown & Music Festival in the Historic Fort Worth Stockyards Saturday, April
13, 2024. Syndicate Smokedown & Music Festival is “Cowtown’s Premiere Music Festival and
BBQ Competition” consisting of a full day of live Texas Country Music, cold drinks and BBQ.
This event will benefit the FWSSS’s mission to make the dreams of young livestock exhibitors
come true through the Jim Bob Norman Scholarship Fund. Over the years, the scholarship fund
has distributed more than $2.7 million in scholarship grants to Texas 4‐H and FFA Students
throughout the state of Texas. Additionally, since its founding in 1980, the FWSSS has
purchased over 9,500 animals at the Fort Worth Stock Show for more than $78 million,
including a record $7.5 million in 2023 at the Jr. Sale of Champions in Fort Worth.
Syndicate Smokedown & Music Festival’s BBQ competition is an International Barbeque
Cookers Association (IBCA) State Championship sanctioned competition. The event will kick off
at 11:30 a.m. when Texas’ top self‐proclaimed BBQ pitmasters compete for prizes from a
$20,000 prize purse. The event’s headline act is the Shane Smith and the Saints with additional
performances by Muscadine Bloodline, Mike and the Moonpies, Bones Owens, Gary P. Nunn,
Two Tons of Steel and Max Stalling
Event tickets will go on sale February 2, 2024 at 10 a.m. on Prekindle.com. There will be
Platinum, VIP, BBQ Time and Music tickets available on sale. This is an outdoor event taking
place at the east end of E. Exchange Ave. in the stockyards near Stockyard Station. This will be
a cashless event and the event will take place rain or shine.
“This year’s event will feature some of the best music, the best BBQ, great competition and
overall a great experience for those attending, all while supporting a great cause. Shane Smith
and the Saints and Muscadine Bloodline are two of the hottest bands on tour and the
supporting lineup will provide a bit of everything for Texas country fans!” said event chair Andy
Eldridge.
There are sponsorship opportunities to be involved with the Syndicate Smokedown & Music
Festvial. Inquiries can be directed to Andy Eldridge, Don Marable or Gavin Wallace.
All net proceeds from Syndicate Smokedown & Music Festival will go directly to the Fort Worth
Stock Show Syndicate (FWSSS) and benefit the JBN Scholarship Fund.
