Meetings mean business in Fort Worth. Last year Visit Fort Worth booked 229,000 definite room nights with more than 1,775 conventions and meetings.
Fort Worth Sports is partnering with the Dickies Arena, TCU and others to bring NCAA tournaments and championships to the city in the years ahead.
The city’s creative community is flourishing and Visit Fort Worth is growing the film, music and visual arts community through endeavors like the Fort Worth Film Commission and Hear Fort Worth.
Since its inception in 2015, the Fort Worth Film Commission has assisted over 300 projects and reported an $11.9 million economic impact in its first two years. Projects include Sundance Film Festival debuts such as A Ghost Story and Never Goin’ Back and most recently David Lowery’s Old Man & the Gun starring Robert Redford.
In September 2017 Fort Worth was designated the first music-friendly city in Texas by the Texas Music Office, Office of the Governor’s “Music-Friendly Communities” certification program. Since then Hear Fort Worth has launched a number of initiatives to help local musicians develop their talent and reach more people. Studio Sessions, a partnership with Niles City Sound, the studio that discovered Fort Worth’s Leon Bridges, will select four emerging artists to develop and public a record single in 2019.
