Dedicated May 29, 2012 in General Worth Square, the JFK Tribute stands as a memorial to the 35th President of the United States, President John F. Kennedy. Located outside what was once the Texas Hotel, the grounds of the statue sit atop where President Kennedy made his last public speech to thousands of rain-soaked Fort Worthians. The tribute is comprised of an 8-foot-tall bronze statue of the President, sculpted by the late Texas artist Lawrence Ludtke, which is flanked by a 10-foot, bowed granite wall that includes three large photographs and several quotes from John F. Kennedy’s presidential term Downtown Fort Worth Initiatives, Inc. has received funding from the Fort Worth Parks Department to make basic improvements to the park.
