Fishing at Trinity Flyfest 2024!

Grab your fishing gear and get ready to reel in some fun!

The Trinity Flyfest returns this year for a celebration of urban trout fishing on March 9 2024. Set against the scenic beauty of the Clear Fork of the Trinity, this family-friendly, FREE event promises a day full of fun, fishing, and festivities.

Produced by and benefiting Streams & Valleys, Trinity Flyfest is more than just an fin-tastic event; it's a call to the community to engage with and preserve our most valuable natural asset. The Tarrant Regional Water District (TRWD) is ensuring an exciting fishing experience by stocking the river with 1,800 lbs. of rainbow trout. But the fun doesn't stop at fishing. The festival will be off the hook with a Big Trout Contest, open fishing, kids’ activities, expert presentations, vendors, food trucks, live music from local artists, and a boatload more.

Streams & Valleys, a non-profit dedicated to the enhancement and enjoyment of the Trinity River and its surroundings, emphasizes the event's role in connecting with nature and encouraging community involvement to keep the river healthy and interactive for generations to come.

Trinity Flyfest 2024 will feature special appearances by renowned female fly fishing guides Cari Ray and Julie Mattson, who bring their expertise, stories, and passion for fly fishing to the event. Cari Ray, a celebrated fly-casting instructor and guide, invites anglers to explore fly fishing with a focus on mindfulness and conservation. Julie Mattson, with her extensive guiding experience across the U.S., including her home states of Montana and Alaska, shares her love for the sport and the great outdoors.

The event's success is bolstered by the support of sponsors such as TRWD, City Center of Fort Worth, Tailwaters Fly Fishing, and other partners, showcasing the community's collective effort in promoting outdoor activities and environmental stewardship.

The festival will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., near Bryant Irvin Road and River Park Drive. Admission to Trinity Flyfest is free, with parking available at River Park Trailhead for $5. It's an open invitation to families, fishing enthusiasts, and anyone looking to cast away their worries and spend a day surrounded by nature and community.
