Luke Wade, Joey Green, Austin Allsup, Jack Ingram and more to perform in London, England

FORT WORTH, Texas (November 21, 2016) – The Fort Worth Convention & Visitors Bureau (FWCVB) will serve as the presenting sponsor of the Texas Music Takeover (TMT) in London, November 24 – December 2, 2016. The seven-day concert series spotlights eleven Texas musicians including Fort Worth’s own Luke Wade, Joey Green and Austin Allsup in venues throughout London.

TMT, produced by Fort Worth-based Rival Entertainment, set out to create a once-in-a-lifetime experience for Texas musicians and their biggest fans by offering travel packages from Texas to the U.K. to attend the concert series.

“There is a lot of interest in the Texas music scene and we have a ton of amazing talent in Fort Worth right now,” said Stephen Bethea, Rival Entertainment president. “We created TMT as a way to showcase hot Texas artists overseas and to provide a unique experience and tradition for fans.”

The concert series provided an ideal opportunity for the FWCVB to leverage Fort Worth musicians in the U.K. and launch a promotion to attract U.K. residents to the shows and promote travel to the city. The U.K. is the No. 1 source of overseas visitors to Fort Worth and Texas.

“There’s strong interest in the Fort Worth story, “said Mitch Whitten FWCVB vice president of marketing and tourism. “Music is an important part of the city's vibe. We are excited for the opportunity to support Fort Worth talent while promoting our city as a world-class destination.”

Live music has exploded across the city in recent years. While Billy Bob's Texas celebrated its 35th anniversary this month, new venues are adding even more options, from Sundance Square's Bands on the Bricks to the Near Southside's Friday on the Green.

FWCVB sponsored the city's first "house" at SXSW earlier this year and will honor international sensation Leon Bridges at its annual meeting February 1, 2017.

All TMT venues will include Visit Fort Worth branding and giveaways. FWCVB promotional efforts include a U.K. based website, radio, digital and social media buy pushing to the concert series and PR opportunities such as live busking in tube stations by Luke Wade. U.K. residents can enter to win a trip for two to Fort Worth hosted by Luke Wade.  For the full concert schedule, participating musicians and contest details, visit www.TexasMusicTakeover.co.uk.
