Stockyards Stables

You've heard of the legendary Chisholm Trail, and now you can experience a part of it the way real cowboys did 150 years ago. Rides department from the Fort Worth Stockyards National Historic District, head down a section of the old trail and then along the Trinity River, where you will have sweeping views of the Downtown Fort Worth skyline. A 30-minute ride with Stockyards Stables runs at $50 per person, with hour-long excursions going for $80 per person. 

Benbrook Stables

Located 20 minutes away from downtown on the Southwest side of Fort Worth, Benbrook Stables offers an escape from the city onto a 100-acre ranch on Lake Benbrook. Riders will splash through brooks and travel down trails lined with wildflowers along the lakefront. Benbrook Stables charge $70 per hour and is cash only. 

Both Benbrook and Stockyards Stables have a minimum age of eight years old for all riders.

Better yet, they are a fun and romantic way to get around, making for a perfect family excursion or date-night getaway. The best way to see the Stockyards in style, a carriage ride is a can’t-miss opportunity to step into the past.
