Take a Tour of The Fort Worth Locales Featured in Season 2 of Taylor Sheridan’s Landman
“If I had to pick a city in the United States where I feel most comfortable, it’s Fort Worth, Texas. If I could shoot everything I do in Fort Worth, I would.” - Billy Bob Thornton (Dallas Morning News)
Fort Worth’s film identity is becoming as well-known as its culture, as Taylor Sheridan continues to lean in to Fort Worth with Landman.
Landman is an original television series created by Taylor Sheridan and Christian Wallace, based on Texas Monthly’s podcast, Boomtown.
The oilfield drama, featuring Billy Bob Thornton as Tommy Norris, Demi Moore as Cami Miller and Ali Larter as Angela Norris brings to life both the grit and glamour of life in the oil and gas industry.
Although much of the story takes place in Midland, Texas, the production was based in Fort Worth. A majority of filming occurred within city limits, including scenes at the bustling SGS Studios in the Alliance Texas development. The production campus, founded by Taylor Sheridan, is now the largest in Texas.
The second season of Landman premiered in November 2025, garnering over 9.2 million global streaming views within its first 48 hours, making it the most-watched original series premiere in Paramount+ history.
Landman has also posted positive numbers for Fort Worth’s economy, bringing crew jobs, hotel stays and business for local establishments.
But Cowtown isn’t just a backdrop, Taylor Sheridan has woven Fort Worth into the storyline as if he were writing a love letter to his hometown.
Fort Worth shines in season two, with scenes featuring the celebrated cultural district, the rich western heritage of the stockyards, stunning skyline of downtown and more.
