Step into the Old West at the Fort Worth Stockyards, home to the world’s only twice-daily cattle drive. Watch as real Texas drovers lead a herd of longhorns down East Exchange Avenue during a free, family-friendly experience that captures the spirit of Texas heritage.

Route: Starts at the Fort Worth Petting Zoo (157 E. Exchange Ave.) and ends just past the Livestock Exchange Building

Ride Trinity Metro's Orange Line from Downtown to the Stockyards

Parking: The Stockyards offers various self parking and valet options
Each drive lasts about 8 minutes. Arrive 30 minutes early to park, grab a viewing spot, and watch the drovers get into position. Streets close 5 minutes before each drive.

The best places to watch the cattle drive are along East Exchange Avenue, including:

Location: Observation Deck, located northeast of the Livestock Exchange Building

Learn about 1800s cattle drives, herd care, and ask the drovers your questions.
Weather & Cancellation Notices
To protect the animals and visitors, the cattle drive may be canceled due to extreme weather or lightning.
If a cancellation occurs, announcements will be posted on Facebook and Instagram at @FortWorthHerd.
