2022 US NATIONAL TABLE TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIPS HEADS TO FORT WORTH
FORT WORTH, TEXAS (June 30, 2022) – USA Table Tennis, the governing body for table tennis in the United States, announced today the return to Texas for their 2022 National Championships. The event is set to take place in the Fort Worth Convention Center, July 2-7, 2022. Fort Worth hosted the elite level table tennis US Open in 2019.
“We’re thrilled to host world-class athletes from across America for a second time,” said Jason Sands, executive director of the Fort Worth Sports Commission. “Table tennis competitors and their fans will feel like they’re coming home to Fort Worth and we’re ready to welcome them with our signature Fort Worth hospitality.”
The Fort Worth Sports Commission worked in partnership with the Fort Worth Convention Center to land this prestigious event, which has an expected economic impact of $1.5 million in direct spending.
“We are excited to be back here to showcase one of our premier events in Fort Worth. The 2022 US Nationals consist of over 750 players from across the country, including Tokyo Olympians Lily Zhang, Nikhil Kumar, and Xin Zhou. Besides the regular events, we also added Parkinson's table tennis events for the very first time to represent the inclusivity of the sport. We look forward to fierce competition as well as a memorable experience for everyone in the coming days,” said Virginia Sung, CEO of USA Table Tennis.
