SUPERINTENDENT RAMSEY, MAYOR PARKER AND TCU ATHLETES AMONG SPEAKERS AT EVENT HOSTED BY FORT WORTH SPORTS COMMISSION, FORT WORTH ISD AND NCAA.

 

WHAT: A kick-off to the 2023 Readers Become Leaders program featuring an interactive panel for grades K-5.

This year, 80 Fort Worth ISD elementary schools and more than 37,000 students have signed up to participate, making it one of the largest community outreach programs in NCAA history.

In the previous four years combined, a total of 55,000+ students have read more than 29 million minutes.

The program is conducted in conjunction with the NCAA Women’s Gymnastics Championship which will be hosted by the Fort Worth Sports Commission for the 5th consecutive year in April at Dickies Arena. 

WHY:  At the event, students will learn about the importance of reading, the prizes they will be eligible to win and enjoy story time with TCU athletes.

The Readers Become Leaders Competition starts January 23 and will run through April 3, 2023.

Mattie Parker, Fort Worth Mayor
TCU Athletes
