Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra Opening Weekend

Tchaikovsky’s brooding Sixth Symphony (The Pathétique) is an exploration of the inner life and thoughts of the composer. The Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra opens the fall season with the powerful work alongside Berlioz’s exhilarating Roman Carnival Overture and Sibelious’ enchanting Violin Concerto in D Minor.

Million Dollar Quartet

Million Dollar Quartet brings to life the legendary recording session that united rock ‘n’ roll legends Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins. Relive that unforgettable December night in Memphis, where the stars aligned, and prepare for performances of iconic songs like Hound Dog, Blue Suede Shoes, and I Walk the Line at Fort Worth’s destination for Broadway hits and musical theater — Casa Mañana Theatre.

 

SEPTEMBER 12

An Evening of Singers and Songwriters Showcase at The Cicada

Hit up The Cicada every Thursday for the recurring series Evening of Singers and Songwriters Showcase. Hosted by local singer-songwriter Christian Carlos Carvajal, this event features incredible local and traveling talent. Signups start at 8 pm, so bring your friends, enjoy a drink (including non-alcoholic “Dank Drinks”), and immerse yourself in fantastic live music each week.

 

SEPTEMBER 14

Quartet Building Blocks

The Balourdet Quartet, acclaimed for delivering both emotionally intense and intimate performances on international stages, performs in Fort Worth as part of our local chamber music society’s annual series. The quartet recently won the 2024 Avery Fisher Career Grant and Chamber Music America’s 2024 Cleveland Quartet Award. The quartet will perform works by Haydn, Bartók and Smetana.

 

SEPTEMBER 19

Cliburn Concerts Presents Joyce Yang

Joyce Yang gained international attention in 2005 when she won the Cliburn silver medal at the age of 19. Yang has performed over 1,000 concerts worldwide, collaborating with prestigious orchestras and earning a Grammy nomination. This fall, she returns to Fort Worth to open the season with performances of Tchaikovsky, Rachmaninov and Mussorgsky.

 

SEPTEMBER 20

Bidi Bidi Banda with Special Guest Los Navaira

Relive the greatness of the Queen of Tejano Music as Austin’s Selena tribute band (boasting notable Latin music performers) takes the Tulips FTW stage. Bidi Bidi Banda was founded by Stephanie Bergara, who grew up listening to Tejano radio as a child. The concert featuring special guest Los Navaira promises a memorable evening of classic and newer Tejano hits.

 

SEPTEMBER 21

Elle King Performs at Billy Bob’s Texas

Elle King is an American singer-songwriter acclaimed for her powerful vocals and soulful, gritty style. She is best known for her popular single Ex’s and Oh’s, which was a breakout hit in 2014. The Grammy-nominated musician performs at Billy Bob’s Texas later this month.
