Lisa Langston began her career long before she worked for Fort Worth Independent School District. As a basketball player and track runner at Texas A&M, Lisa understood first-hand the impact of sports on a student. After playing three years of professional basketball in Europe, she began her career at Fort Worth ISD to become the kind of mentor that she valued when she was playing. As the first Black female director for Fort Worth ISD, Lisa is eager to mentor the next generation of athletic professionals and help them blaze a trail all their own.

What are your favorite Fort Worth restaurants?
Panther City BBQ, Pouring Glory, Mama E's Home Cooking, Cafe Modern, Michaels Cuisine.
What is your favorite place to take visitors in Fort Worth?
Billy Bob's is my favorite place to show off to my out-of-state guests. They have an amazing time experiencing the friendly atmosphere, trying out a two-step or line dance, and being impressed by my two-stepping!
What is your favorite place to enjoy the outdoors in Fort Worth?
Trinity Park, especially the Duck Pond.
What is your favorite place to listen to music in Fort Worth?
One of my preferred locations to enjoy music is at the yearly Main St. Art Festival. I appreciate the diverse genres of music that are showcased throughout the festival.
What do you think visitors will find unexpected about Fort Worth?
Although Fort Worth is known for its western heritage, it also offers a small-town vibe with a variety of diverse and vibrant neighbors. Visitors will be pleasantly surprised by the city's international food scene and its fine cultural offerings, including performance centers and museums. Those seeking outdoor activities will appreciate the numerous scenic trails along the Trinity River.
