About
Over the past decade, the Fort Worth Film Commission has supported major studio projects, like Taylor Sheridan series Landman and Lioness as well as bold independent features, like Old Man and the Gun from director David Lowery and Channing-Godfrey People’s Miss Juneteenth. We also believe in celebrating stories, through world premieres for films like 12 Mighty Orphans starring Luke Wilson and OSCAR®-qualifying theatrical releases for short films.
Our community boasts the largest production campus in Texas at SGS Studios as well as the largest volume stage at Trilogy Studios providing capacity to accommodate 5+ productions concurrently. Our educational partners are training our next generation workforce through programs like the Fort Worth Film Collaborative at Tarrant County College and Virtual Production Institute from Texas A&M. This infrastructure combined with historic incentive funding through the Texas Moving Image Industry Incentive Program positions Fort Worth as a top destination for filmmakers.
Why Film in Fort Worth
The Fort Worth Film Commission has supported 1,000+ projects driving $1 billion in economic impact and creating over 50,000 jobs since launched in 2015.

The People
Fort Worth has a highly skilled crew base able to support large-scale projects with multiple productions at the same time. For example, Landman Season Two employed 1,092 crew members with over 2,500 extras for a total of 3,856 hired.
Mayor Mattie Parker and our supportive City Council have been strong advocates for the film industry and help seamlessly connect the city.

The Place
Diverse locations support projects with western backdrops and modern museums, Art Deco architecture and rolling, green spaces with major neighborhoods accessible by a short 10-minute drive. An emerging studio district just north of downtown has open space to house large infrastructure, including SGS and Trilogy Studios, designed with state-of-the-art technology.
DFW Airport services the region, with the ability to reach any destination in the continental United States in 4 hours or less, and private airports provide a great option for VIP guests.
Productions in Fort Worth also benefit from the city’s lower cost-of-living, compared to other destinations of its size. Expenditures like location fees, housing, catering and more have competitive pricing which helps keep production budgets low.

The Perfect Scene
Experienced production services companies and national or boutique equipment rental houses are ready to support your team. Our streamlined permit process allows productions to move swiftly, with the City of Fort Worth able to quickly process street closure and parking applications. Filming for other locations can be approved by the property owner, without the need for blanket permits.
