Don't Let the Abilene Sign Fool You, Ella Langley's Video for "Choosin' Texas" Was Filmed in Fort Worth
FORT WORTH, Texas — Multi-platinum, chart-topping singer-songwriter Ella Langley has brought her hit single “Choosin’ Texas” to life in a cinematic new music video filmed at the iconic Stagecoach Ballroom in Fort Worth, Texas.
Directed by Ella Langley, Wales Toney and Caylee Robillard, the video captures the spirit of Texas through the lens of Fort Worth’s legendary Western heritage and live music scene.
The video features a standout cast including Luke Grimes of Yellowstone; Ava Phillippe, daughter of Reese Witherspoon; with cameos by country music stars Miranda Lambert, Kaitlin Butts, Casey Donahew, Wade Bowen, Mike Ryan, Shea Fisher and rodeo stars JB Mauney, Dale Brisby, Tyson Durfey, Shad Mayfield and Leighton Berry.
Filmed at storied dance hall, Stagecoach Ballroom, the project spotlights Fort Worth as the ultimate Western destination. Rich Texas traditions ranging from two-step dancing and live music to rodeo provide an authentic backdrop for film, television and music video production locations, not only in the Historic Stockyards, but throughout the city.
In addition to the 65-year-old Stagecoach Ballroom being a prime location for this video, the production provided an opportunity for local film professionals to contribute their talent while Fort Worth hotels, including the Bowie House and Nobleman, hosted the cast. "We are grateful to have unique locations and a film-friendly community to consistently make the production process seamless and successful," added Taylor Hardy, Fort Worth Film Commissioner.
"When Ella chose Stagecoach Ballroom for this production, it felt like she was bringing a heartbeat back to our dance floor. This entire production came together in just two weeks. Working closely with Lukas Lennon, Wale Toney with Whale Tail Music, and the whole community of Fort Worth shows the collaborative spirit of the city," said Julia Paur of the Stagecoach Ballroom.
"Choosin’ Texas” made its broadcast premiere across MTV Live, MTVU, CMT, and on the Paramount Times Square billboards at 5:30 PM on Wednesday, April 1. The Platinum-certified song has spent weeks on the top of the Hot 100 charts on Billboard including currently being #1 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs list. It has accumulated over 525M worldwide streams to date and continues to grow.
