FORT WORTH CONVENTION & VISITORS BUREAU ANNOUNCES 4TH ANNUAL MEETING & BREAKFAST

Grammy-nominated recording artist Leon Bridges to be honored 

FORT WORTH, Texas (October 3, 2016) – The Fort Worth Convention & Visitors Bureau will honor Grammy-nominated recording artist and songwriter Leon Bridges and spotlight one of the most retweeted marketers in the world at its fourth annual meeting and breakfast Feb. 1, 2017, at the Omni Fort Worth Hotel.

The meeting’s theme, “Things to Do,” will pay homage to the growing number of attractions and features that draw visitors to one of the nation’s fastest-growing cities.  

The 2017 FWCVB Hospitality Award will be presented to Grammy-nominated recording artist Leon Bridges. The award honors a person, company or organization that has made significant contributions to developing, marketing and delivering visitor experiences for Fort Worth’s travel, tourism and hospitality industry. Past recipients include Holt Hickman and the museums of the Cultural District. 

“Leon Bridges is an amazing ambassador for Fort Worth,” said Bob Jameson, FWCVB president and CEO. “People travel to destinations where there is a vibrant cultural scene, and music is an important part of Fort Worth’s story. Leon has helped put the spotlight back on Fort Worth music and share our story around the world. We are excited to honor him in his hometown.”

The keynote address will be given by Jay Baer, the most retweeted person in the world by digital marketers. Baer is a 5-time New York Times best-selling author and international expert on technology, marketing and customer service.

The meeting will highlight innovations in marketing to leisure, business and international travelers; tourism’s growing impact on the local economy and jobs; and recent initiatives such as Fort Worth Sports Marketing and the Fort Worth Film Commission.

The 2016 FWCVB annual report and 2017 FWCVB tourism video will also be revealed.
