MAJOR CONVENTION ANNOUNCEMENTS SLATED FOR 2017 FWCVB ANNUAL MEETING
Leon Bridges to be honored for promoting Fort Worth
FORT WORTH, Texas (January 17, 2017) – The Fort Worth Convention & Visitors Bureau (FWCVB) will release details about the latest economic impact from tourism and new projections for convention activity at its 4th Annual Meeting & Breakfast on February 1 at the Omni Fort Worth Hotel.
The FWCVB annual meeting will highlight innovations in marketing to leisure, business and international travelers; tourism’s growing impact on the local economy and jobs; and recent initiatives such as Fort Worth Sports Marketing and the Fort Worth Film Commission.
“We are excited to share major advancements in convention bookings for the city,” said Bob Jameson, president and CEO of the FWCVB. “These will create numerous opportunities and jobs for hotels and partners.”
A record number of sponsors have come on board to support the FWCVB annual meeting including presenting sponsors Pinnacle Bank and Tri-Hawk Media Audio Visual.

The 2017 FWCVB Hospitality Award will be presented to Grammy-nominated recording artist Leon Bridges by Brendon Anthony, Director of the Texas Music Office in the Office of the Governor. Grammy-nominated Bridges will be honored for raising the profile of Fort Worth during his world tour. Past recipients include Holt Hickman and the museums of the Cultural District.
The keynote address will be given by Jay Baer, the most retweeted digital marketer in the world. Baer is a 5-time New York Times best-selling author and international expert on technology, marketing and customer service.
The 2016 FWCVB annual report and 2017 FWCVB tourism video will also be revealed.
An additional 250 tickets have been released to accommodate the growing demand to attend. Individual tickets and tables are available now until space is filled.
