SPORTS ETA AND FORT WORTH SPORTS COMMISSION HOLD
ANNUAL SYMPOSIUM MAY 2-5

800 Sports Events and Tourism Leaders Convene in Fort Worth

FORT WORTH, TEXAS (May 2, 2022) – Sports ETA, the only trade association for the sports events and tourism industry, will host its largest event of the year here May 2-5, 2022 at the Fort Worth Convention Center. More than 800 sports events and tourism industry leaders are registered for the Sports ETA Symposium, which offers dozens of continuing education programs and networking opportunities over the four days.

The Symposium will begin on Monday with two industry-leading programs offered by Sports ETA: the Sports Facilities Summit, where participants will tour Globe Life Field, AT&T Stadium and Dickies Arena, and the Sports Tourism Strategist (STS) Certificate Program, which will focus on leadership and communications.

“Fort Worth is so excited to welcome all the national governing bodies, rights holders and industry professionals to our great city to see everything we have to offer. It’s also a time to celebrate how the sports tourism industry weathered the storm and ultimately thrived during a challenging two years,” said Jason Sands, executive director of the Fort Worth Sports Commission, a division of Visit Fort Worth.

On May 4, the State of the Industry Report will be released, quantifying and updating the billion-dollar impact that sports events and tourism has in the United States. It will be the first report that details the recovery and opportunity for the industry following the pandemic.

“We know that Fort Worth will be a terrific host city to convene our sports events and tourism industry to discuss best practices, new trends and business opportunities,” said Al Kidd, President & CEO of Sports Events & Tourism Association.
