This craft taqueria food trailer is the perfect spot to get your burrito, taco or quesadilla fix. Owner Manny puts an emphasis on fine ingredients and presentation. While attending college in Southern California, he tried amazing tacos north and south of the border and decided to bring those flavors to Fort Worth. The crimson birria tacos are crispy perfection while the burrito is belt-bustingly delicious.

Located on the back patio of Martin House Brewing Company is a long vintage trailer that cooks up some of the tastiest noshes in town. Barley by Rye caters to throngs of hungry hopheads, but a trip to try their burgers, sammies and appetizers is worth the trip — with or without a beer. On a recent visit, I sprung for the D.A.D., a decked-out hotdog topped with a spicy cheese sauce, mustard and chopped onions. The Barley Burger’s patty was juicy and hefty, and the toppings of caramelized onions, arugula and a creamy cheese sauce sent my tastebuds into overdrive.

Leo and Finn opened SUGACUBE to address the shortage of boba tea and East Asia treat options in Fort Worth. The cutesy trailer is parked on West Magnolia Avenue on weekends serving boba drinks made with strawberries, milk, juices and other fresh ingredients. The mango jasmine tea is my personal favorite, and I can’t wait to take my daughter to try the Hong Kong Waffle made with chocolate, ice cream and other sweets wrapped in a warm waffle cone — yum!

Chef Johnny keeps it simple with a lean menu focused on hefty burgers and golden-fried tots. Burgerholics can opt for the Sweet Heat (smashed patty, grilled jalapenos, Best Maid pickles,
bacon, cheese, house-made salsa), Gusto Burger (American cheese, caramelized onions, pickles, Gusto sauce), and sliders. Johnny serves vegan-friendly options that would satisfy even the most discerning carnivore. Chef Scotty Scott is a foodie influencer, cookbook author and connoisseur of dad jokes. He fashions himself the Abe Fromage of cheese — a not-so-subtle reference to the “king of sausage” Abe Froman. The only thing cheesier than Scotty’s jokes are his delectable sammies served at his new food truck. I’m a fan of his Cheezy Joe, which brings out my inner child. The gooey centerpiece is meaty Sloppy Joe sauce and melted American cheese. The Goud Butt packs two toasted baguette slices with nutty gouda, cuts of red apple and a few sprigs of mint. It’s minimalist and delicious.

The fifty-fifty name comes from the food truck’s equal vegan and meat-based offerings. Warning: the portions here are huge. I ended up splitting the chicken parmesan sandwich with a friend on a recent visit. One popular plant-based option, the Hot Honey Shroom, features fried mushrooms, dill slaw, pickles and hot honey. Whether you go vegetarian or carnivore, you won’t leave hungry or disappointed at this popular food truck.
