Every year, from September 15-October 15, Fort Worth pulses with festivities for Hispanic Heritage Month. This year’s events and activities will showcase the diversity and unity of the Hispanic community in Fort Worth. Enjoy live music, parades, festivals, food and drinks from the vibrant traditions of the Latin American community.

Latin American Flag Parade
Fort Worth Botanic Garden
Saturday, September 14
To kick off the Botanic Garden’s Celebramos!, a month-long celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, join the 2nd annual Latin American Flag Parade! Led by the talented Ballet Folklorico, the flag parade will march through the Garden with flag-bearers from every country in Latin America. Admission to the Garden on September 14 is free. Fiestas Patrias Parade & Celebration

Head to the Northside neighborhood for the ultimate celebration of Hispanic Heritage on the official first day of the celebration month! The Fiestas Patrias parade will move through Northside, with dancers, special guests, live music, food and more.
Mexico en la Sangre

That afternoon, enjoy Mexico en la Sangre, a special Mexican rodeo, at Cowtown Coliseum. Featuring Escaramuzas Charras, the female equestrian sport performing synchronized maneuvers on horseback, and other skilled athletes performing at the top level of rodeo and entertainment.
Grito de Independencia
La Gran Plaza de Fort Worth

This all-day festival unites the community celebrating Mexican culture and heritage. Featuring live bands, ballet folklorico dance performances, and the Grito de Independencia, or Declaration of Independence, recited by the Mexican Consulate’s Consul General of Dallas.

Enjoy a day of autos and atmosphere at the Sundance Square Car & Culture Show. An exciting lowrider car show, this celebratory event in Sundance Square Plaza will feature music, food and the lively culture of the lowrider community.

The Festival de Cine Latino Americano will feature the very best international Latino and Latin American content. The three-day festival will showcase and support existing and emerging creative Latino filmmakers worldwide by creating a space for innovative, original and thought-provoking works by, about and for the Latino community.
Michelada Festival

Celebrate food, music, heritage and, of course, micheladas in downtown Fort Worth! Admission is absolutely free, with free samples of michelada mix before 2pm. Also featuring a Michelada Competition, live music, dancing, and lots of food and drink to enjoy.

Don Artemio
August 28 to October 20
For the second year in a row, Don Artemio will celebrate the occasion with Chile en Nogada, a special, traditional dish made from roasted and peeled poblano peppers stuffed with a unique picadillo and covered in a walnut-cream sauce known as nogada. La Gran Plaza de Fort Worth – La Gran Plaza is more than a shopping center; it’s a landmark that profoundly impacts the area’s development, community cohesion and cultural landscape. Artes de la Rosa at Rose Marine Theater – The historic theater dates back to the 1920s and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Gallery Nights – Latin art exhibitions will take place all over the city. Sundance Square’s galleries will be particularly lively, with their September 7th Fall Gallery Night, including the opening of the Latin Art Exhibition at Caravan of Dreams and a gallery opening reception at 400h Gallery. These exhibitions will explore themes of identity, migration and cultural traditions.
Erika Duque Scully will have a solo exhibition of “Aether” at the Fort Works Art Gallery, September 7-October 5. Aether will explore the boundaries between reality and fantasy with her imagined compositions and works.
