Here are a few spots around the city that excel in providing tantalizing menus to-go, making it easy and safe to get your meals.

Compatible Delights

Compatible Delights [6637 Meadowbrook] is a plant-based pop-up located outside of The Dock Bookshop in the Meadowbrook neighborhood of Fort Worth. I got the combo plate of the week which included their Oyster Chk N Basket (deliciously seasoned crispy on the outside tender on the inside fried oyster mushrooms), asparagus and cherry tomatoes, grilled mac and cheese, and okra that still had a beautiful crunch to it. Of course, I couldn’t pass up the Country Banana Pudding, and neither should you. It was creamy, just sweet enough, and with my entire meal being vegan, guilt-free.
A rotating menu features items such as loaded nachos, cheeseburger stuffed avocado, and vegan fried shrimp (made from konjac, a tuber-like plant that grows underground). Find the latest menu by following them on Instagram. Compatible Delights also makes it really easy to pre-order on your phone. View the menu, place your order and pay via the Cash app and it will be ready for pick-up.

Elotes The Corn’er

Elotes the Corn’er serves up hot and fresh elotes (whole corn cob) and elote en vaso (cut corn in a cup) in a range of styles. Take their Hot Cheetos Elote for example: an enormous whole corn on the cob spread with a mix of natural butter, mayo, cheese, chile flakes and a variety of salsas, all rolled in crushed Hot Cheetos. Snack perfection.
Elotes the Corn’er is built for quick grab-and-go orders, with plenty of room to social distance outside while you wait. Keep up with their Instagram page for hours and when they will be serving birria tacos next. Go early as this popular plate often sells out quickly! Located outside of Fiesta Mart on 4254 E Berry.

Meyer & Sage

Meyer & Sage [2621 Whitmore] offers homemade meals designed to reheat in your oven. With a convenient, easy-to-use online ordering system, you can quickly place and pay for your order from your phone or computer. An email or text (your preference) informs you the food is ready, followed by curbside delivery upon pick up. Meyer & Sage offers a wide range of entrees and sides including many gluten-free and vegetarian options.
I picked up the organic chicken Lombardy with marsala sauce and cremini mushrooms, and a side of summer vegetable ratatouille with roasted summer squash, eggplant, red onion and sweet peppers for dinner. Both dishes go straight in the oven and are ready to go in 15 minutes. The chicken was juicy and well seasoned, and the vegetables were fresh and flavorful. Since the meals are meant to be finished in the oven, it’s the same amount of effort as reheating leftovers but with all the taste of a freshly made meal.
