Cassy Lopez is a Tarleton Alumni and earned her degree in business. She was blessed with the opportunity to start a Mexican Rodeo in 2021. Mexico en la Sangre combines the traditions of charreria, the art of dancing horses, live music and folklorico. Her passion for horses and people has propelled her company into a highly successful event adored by all. She is dedicated to fostering a sense of "family" among her team of 120 members.

What do you love about living and working in Fort Worth?

Fort Worth is home, where my childhood memories can be recreated and shared with the next generation.
 

How do you celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month? 

Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated doing what I love most, honoring the cultural charreria traditions including banda, horses, and family. 
 

Where do you take family/friends visiting Fort Worth? 

I take great pride in my business and often bring family and friends to the Fort Worth Stockyards, a place that has become like a second home to me. Sharing cherished memories and experiences for all to enjoy! 
 

How has Fort Worth's Hispanic culture and heritage impacted you or your business? 

The Hispanic culture has long been intertwined with Fort Worth, and delving deeper into our heritage has introduced me to remarkable individuals. Providing avenues for community members of every generation to share their heritage with others and follow their dreams.
 

What advice would you give to Hispanic entrepreneurs and professionals who are just starting out? 

Take the leap! Each issue presents an opportunity for resolution, and no challenge is too big for the gratification of witnessing the fruits of their labor. The saying “it’s not work if you love what you do” became my reality and now I am living the dream. With determination the possibilities are endless.
