Taylor Sheridan’s original TV series, Landman, streaming on Paramount+, digs deep into the lives of those who work in the oil and gas industry in Texas. From the owner of the oil company right down to the newest “worm” on the crew, the series shows the real life struggles and victories of the high stakes lifestyle this type of work entails, explaining why one of the most lucrative, necessary, and controversial businesses in America isn’t just about having flashy cars and owning mansions.

The show stars Billy Bob Thornton as Tommy Norris, the landman who works for Monty to keep the business running smoothly, working with landowners and solving problems with the oil rigs, and Jon Hamm as Monty Miller, the CEO of a major oil company. Their leading ladies are Demi Moore as Cami Miller and Ali Larter as Angela, who help keep things running smoothly.

Although some of the story takes place in Midland and Oddessa, the production office was based in Fort Worth with filming taking place in and around the city. Fort Worth’s vast diversity of neighborhoods, districts, and topography made it possible to portray places that were more than five hours away and make it look distinctly different from scenes with Monty in Fort Worth.

Landman was the third most-watched original streaming show worldwide in 2024, with 9.9 billion minutes viewed (Variety). Learn more about the locations that were used during filming for Season 1 with our guide below.  Many of these businesses are open to the public, and we encourage fans to visit Fort Worth for a behind-the-scenes look at the show. Have fun exploring Fort Worth!

The interior shots of Arianna’s house were also filmed in Fort Worth off Camp Bowie Boulevard.  Homes in the Benbrook neighborhood were used for exterior shots of Arianna, Luis, and Isabel Medina’s houses.  Many houses in the Camp Bowie district are bungalow and ranch-style homes, which made for a good inspirational backdrop for Arianna’s home. Camp Bowie Boulevard is known for its historic red brick street, and is becoming a popular area filled with bakeries, boutiques, and eateries.

Babes N Brew

The coffee shop Cooper visits with his crew before heading into work was a temporary set made for filming, but a real life version exists off of Camp Bowie Boulevard at 3425 Cimmaron Trail. Can’t Resist Coffee is in fact a pink shack with a drive thru only just like in the show.

Beer Barn

Although the beer barn that Angela stops at to stock up for her newfound friends at the nursing home was shot on a set, it is very similar to Fort Worth’s real life Eskimo Hut at 5518 W Vickery Blvd, serving up frozen drinks to go, as well as beers, seltzers, and every other liquor you can imagine. This concept of a drive-thru liquor store is very common in Texas, and can be found throughout the state.

Known as The Patch Cafe in the show, this west Fort Worth storefront was formerly Dayne’s Craft Barbeque. The space was recently purchased by River Ranch Stockyards owner, Phillip Murrin. The cafe is yet to be named, but Murrin says it will open up later this year as a Texas-themed restaurant serving up chicken fried steaks just like it did in the show. Driving around Aledo you’re likely to see many homes that looked like the sprawling mansions in Landman.

TCU/Zoo

TCU - LandmanTCU’s Lowdon Track and Field Complex - 3750 W Berry St

Texas Christian University was not only mentioned multiple times throughout the series but was also featured in an episode where Monty’s daughter had a track meet. Lowdon Track and Field Complex set the scene for the competitive nature of Monty’s family early on in the show and gave a glimpse into TCU’s athletic excellence and its dynamic campus atmosphere. TCU has a beautiful campus and has created a great community that embodies the Fort Worth feel of hospitality and togetherness. They also have a great Film, Television, and Digital media program as well as Sports Broadcasting. While filming on campus students were able to shadow industry professionals in nine different departments allowing them to learn what it would be like to film for a larger production company. Students and staff from across campus were also asked to be extras during filming. TCU is always finding new and innovative ways to connect their students with professionals in the various industries in which they are studying. Opportunities like this support both learning and the Fort Worth community as a whole.
