Presented by the Fort Worth Public Library, the concert features a diverse lineup of local talent, including folk singer Cameron Smith, rapper ItsErnie, indie artist Gabby Minton, EDM duo Yokyo, DJ Asa Ace, and Americana songwriter David Tribble. Admission is free.

Fort Worth’s Symphony Stars Shine
The Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra puts its own musicians in the spotlight during Stars of the Symphony, a special performance highlighting the virtuosity of the ensemble's principal players. Conducted by Alex Amsel, the evening features Principal Violin II Adriana Voirin DeCosta, Assistant Principal Trumpet Cody McClarty, Assistant Principal Clarinet Ivan Petruzziello, and Assistant Principal Oboe Tamer Edlebi performing works by Bach, Strauss, Böhme, Enescu, and Stravinsky. The concert takes place August 21 at Bass Performance Hall.
Darth Vato Celebrates New Music With a Homecoming Show at Tulips
Fort Worth’s own Darth Vato is throwing a party that’s been long in the making. The ska-punk-reggae favorites return to Tulips on August 29 to celebrate the release of two new projects: Mistakes Were Made — Live! and Playing with Fire. Formed in 2002, the band built a devoted following with its high-energy performances and genre-blending sound before going on hiatus in 2009. Joining the celebration are fellow local reggae stalwarts Pablo and the Hemphill 7, along with party-rock outfit Son of Stan, making this one of the year’s biggest showcases of Fort Worth’s homegrown music scene.
