Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra Performs Sci-Fi Symphony

The bold, triumphant themes of Star Wars, the eerie tension of Alien, and the sweeping majesty of Jurassic Park’s score have defined generations of cinematic storytelling, thanks in no small part to their original and compelling soundtracks. These iconic pieces, alongside music from Star Trek, The X-Files, and more, come to life in an unforgettable performanceas the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra, led by conductor Michelle Di Russo pays tribute to some of the greatest sci-fi scores in history.

 

JANUARY 17-18

Tulips FTW Presents Fourth Annual NOT STOCK

While the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo brings music acts with a country twang, Tulips FTW is bringing the rock this January. The Fourth Annual NOT STOCK event promises to be a high-energy, multi-day celebration of rock, indie, and everything in between. The venue, known for its amazing acoustics and adjacent bar Lowdoubt, will host a stellar lineup including The Cut Throat Finches, Fastball, and Trauma Ray’s album release party.

 

JANUARY 18

Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo Presents Dusty Moats

Catch Dusty Moats live at the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo at the Michelob Ultra Roadhouse. With a career spanning over two decades, Dusty has graced stages across the country, and he’s shared the stage with legendary artists like Alan Jackson, BB King and Pat Green. Known for his chart-topping hits on Texas Radio, Dusty delivers high-energy showsfilled with honky-tonk charm.

 

JANUARY 18

Billy Bob’s Texas Presents Corey Kent

Corey Kent is bringing his dynamic country-rock sound to Billy Bob’s Texas mid-January for an unforgettable night of music. His major label debut album Blacktop and recent release Black Bandana showcase his roots in Oklahoma and his journey through the industry. Now famed for hit singles like “Wild as Her” and “Something’s Gonna Kill Me,” Kent’s blend of authentic storytelling and powerful performances has captured the attention of country music fans nationwide.

The Cliburn Presents Sir Stephen Hough at Hannahill’s

Known for his virtuosity as a pianist, his compositions, and his writings, Stephen Hough has performed with the world’s leading orchestras and at the most prestigious concert halls. Named a polymath by The Economist, Hough is a MacArthur Fellow and was knighted in 2022. His accolades include Grammy nominations, multiple awards, and a remarkable career that spans classical performance, composition, and writing. Don’t miss his return to Fort Worth at this upcoming performance at Tannahill’s Tavern & Music Hall.

Scat Jazz Lounge Presents A Miles Davis Tribute

Experience the magic of Miles Davis at Scat Jazz Lounge as trumpeter Pete Clagett pays tribute to the man who redefined jazz. Clagett will delve into the iconic career of Davis, blending skill and passion in an unforgettable evening. A globally recognized musician, Clagett has toured with esteemed jazz and pop artists, performed in acclaimed groups like Bob Belden’s Animation, and earned praise from outlets such as the New York Times and Chicago Tribune. 

 

JANUARY 31

Jubilee Theater Presents The Movement 

Immerse yourself in the powerful rhythms and resonant harmonies of The Movement, opening on January 30 at Jubilee Theatre. Written by Kathy D. Harrison and directed by D. Wambui Richardson, this captivating acapella musical transports audiences back to 1963, chronicling the inspiring journey of the Children’s Movement. Through stirring vocal performances and evocative storytelling, the play highlights a transformative era in American history. This is the opening night of the show, which runs through early March.
