Country Music Favorite Jamey Johnson Returns to Billy Bob’s Texas
Country music veteran Jamey Johnson returns to Billy Bob’s Texas on September 4, bringing a catalog that includes fan favorites “In Color” and “High Cost of Living.” The Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter has also penned hits for George Strait, Trace Adkins, and other country heavyweights. Rising country artist Hannah McFarland opens the Thursday night show.
Grammy-Winning Sensation Brandi Carlile Performs at Dickies Arena
Things are ramping up in Fort Worth’s multipurpose arena. Eleven-time Grammy winner Brandi Carlile brings The Human Tour to Simmons Bank Pavilion at Dickies Arena on September 5. The singer-songwriter arrives in Fort Worth as part of an extensive North American fall run, performing music from across her celebrated career. Indie-folk favorites The Head and the Heart join Carlile as special guests, making this one of September’s biggest nights for live music in Cowtown.
Fort Worth Symphony Opens Its Season With Beethoven’s Fifth
The Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra launches its 2026-2027 season at Bass Performance Hall from September 11 through 13 with one of classical music’s most recognizable works. Beethoven’s Fifth anchors the opening weekend program, joined by the composer’s dramatic Egmont Overture and Mozart’s sublime Piano Concerto No. 23. Performances run Friday and Saturday at 7:30 pm and Sunday at 2 pm.
Ghalia Volt Brings Modern Blues to Tulips
Belgian-born blues artist Ghalia Volt brings her gritty mix of Hill Country blues and rock ‘n’ roll to Tulips FTW on September 17. Volt arrives behind her new album, Burn the House Down, produced in Nashville by guitarist JD Simo. Mississippi blues musician Kent Burnside joins the bill for a night that brings two distinctive takes on Southern blues to the Near Southside venue. Doors open at 7 pm.
Stocktoberfest Puts a Cowtown Spin on Oktoberfest
Mule Alley trades a little Western swagger for German tradition when Stocktoberfest returns to the Fort Worth Stockyards from September 18 through 20. The three-day celebration stretches from Mule Alley to Cowtown Coliseum with live music, cold beer, lawn games, and giveaways from 11 am to 8 pm. The popular event kicks off a busy fall in the Stockyards, with Fashion Week Stockyards Style returning and Cowtown Coliseum hosting weekly competitions throughout the season.
The Backyard Unplugged Finale
Hotel Drover sends off another season of its popular Backyard Unplugged music series on September 26 with Wild West Wine Fest. The evening pairs curated wines and pop-ups from Western brands with live music from Ralyn Gayle, a rising country singer who brings Texas attitude and Nashville influences to her catchy, high-energy sound. Local jeweler LNULA will also be on hand showcasing pieces for the fall season.
